Weetbix Kids Tryathlon 2018

Congratulations to all of the team who took part in the Tryathlon this year at Keith Hay park. It was an early start but the children did an amazing job. Thank you so much to all the parents for their support and help on the day. 

Fundraising Help!

Ex Halsey Drive student Caleb is fundraising for a trip to Sydney so he and the rest of his team can take part in a Gymnastics training Camp with ex commonwealth games athlete David Bishop. It will be an amazing opportunity for the boys. To help fund the trip the boys will be holding a sausage sizzle outside Tri-Star gym next Sunday 9th December from 8am-1pm. 

If you're in the area stop in and help support the boys!

Athletics Day 2018

Congratulations to all the children who competed at our school athletics day last week. It was a fantastic day with amazing weather. Well done to all those children who took part and tried their best. Congratulations to all those children who won events and were selected to compete at zones next week. We can't wait to hear how you go. A massive thank you to all the teachers who helped run events and to the parents who came along to support us. 

Kiwisports Day

Congratulations to the Year 5/6 children who were chosen to represent the school at the Kiwisports day at Hillsborough primary. The children displayed excellent skills as well as terrific sportsmanship and teamwork. They were so Fantastic they finished 1st overall!! A huge thank you to all of the parents who provided transport and help on the day.  

Teachers vs Students Netball 2018

Last week the A team took on the teachers in a game of netball. It was a close game with both teams playing with skill and flare. Fantastic effort was made by all involved! Congratulations to the teachers who took out the result in the end. 

Netball Prizegiving

Congratulations to all of the girls who played netball for the school this season. It has been fantastic seeing you improve each week. Last Saturday we had netball prize giving at Waikowhai Intermediate. Congratulations to Tvisha, Joanna, Akeelah, Nicole and Arina who received their teams 'Sportsmanship and fair play' award. 

Congratulations to A team for winning the B grade, B team for finishing runners up in the C grade and C team for winning the E grade. It was fantastic to see all your hard work this season paying off.

A MASSIVE congratulations to all the children who took part in the Cross Country today at Monte Cecilia park. It was a fantastic day with some amazing results. 

The children all gave it 110% and were rewarded by finishing 1st overall!! Thank you so much to all of the whanau who came along to support and encourage the children it was a true team effort! We are super proud of all of you!

Congratulations to James, Dylan and Alesssandra on finishing 1st in their respective races, and Aryan and Alina on finishing 2nd and Sanah on finishing 3rd. 

Cross Country

Rugby Zones

The Halsey Drive Rugby Team proudly represented the school at the Central Rugby Zones on Tuesday. There were a number of standout players on the day but the true standout performance was the way the team showed integrity and team work with each game they played. The team put on a stellar performance and came away with 4 wins, 1 loss and 1 draw, finishing 2nd overall by 1 point. Thank you to all those parents who came down to support and provided transportation. Nga mihi nui.

Netball 2018

Congratulations to all of the girls who took part in Netball this season, it has been great seeing the improvement each week. A MASSIVE thank you to all our coaches, managers, umpires and supporters, we couldn't do it without you!

Congratulations to the A, B and C netball teams who have been successful in their grades, these girls will now need to attend Prize Giving on Saturday 15th September at Waikowhai Intermediate to receive their awards. Also congratulations to the girls who have been nominated for their teams Sportmaship and Fairplay award. 

 

Cross Country 2018

Congratulations to all the children who took part in our whole school Cross country last Friday 24th August. It was a fantastic day and the weather held out for us! It was awesome to see so many children showing determination and completing what was a tough and muddy course. Thank you so much to all the family and friends who come out to support the children.

Gymnastics Zones

Halsey Drive children participated in Schools' Central/West Gymnastics Zones Competition on 16th of August 2018 at Tristar Gymnasium, Mt. Roskill.

Thanks to our wonderful parent helpers who invested their time to train our gymnasts. Also wanted to thank all parent helpers who helped with transport to the Gym.

Well done Halsey Drive and good luck for "Champion of Champions" competition to be held on 13th September, 2018.

Gymnastic Fun Festival

Some important reminders from Auckland netball:

To respect everyones safety and to protect the new rubberised court surface please; 

• Park legally; not in the 5-minute Drop Off Zone, on yellow lines or across driveways 

• Leave your dogs at home; only Guide dogs are permitted 

• No sharp objects on courts; shoes with spikes, studs or cleats, leaning on umbrellas, stiletto heels 

• No bikes, scooters, hover boards, skate boards, roller blades or similar 

• Spectators to stand on the green areas along the side-lines, not along the goal lines. The blue area is for the players and umpires.

 • Discarded chewing gum damages the court surface 

• Windmill Netball Courts is a SMOKE FREE environment 

• Please place all rubbish in the bins provided or take it home with you
